28 September 2026 | 193
In Splatoon 3, collecting distinct outfits is a major part of expressing your playstyle, and scanning figure collectibles offers some of the best exclusive cosmetic sets available. Players can unlock unique headwear, tops, and shoes by tapping supported figures at the in-game display box located in Splatsville. Understanding the scanning process and battle requirements ensures you claim every piece of gear efficiently without unnecessary delays.
How to Scan Amiibo in Splatsville
To begin claiming your rewards, approach the physical interactive box near the central hub area in Splatsville. Tap your chosen figure to the NFC touchpoint on your Nintendo Switch controller when prompted on screen. Upon the initial tap, the figure character will appear in-game and reward you with your first gear piece, which is typically the footwear item.
Unlocking the Full Three-Piece Gear Sets
Receiving the remaining two gear items requires playing through online multiplayer battles. You must log victories in Turf War, Anarchy Battles, or X Battles to progress toward the clothing and headwear unlocks. Winning ten battles unlocks the second clothing piece, while earning a total of twenty wins unlocks the final headpiece.
Bypassing Battle Requirements with Past Save Data
If you previously registered your figure in Splatoon 2, you can skip the multiplayer battle grind entirely. Transferring existing figure data into Splatoon 3 allows the character to instantly gift you all three gear pieces at once. This shortcut saves significant time for veteran players expanding their locker collections early in the game.
Types of Exclusive Rewards Available
Each figure releases a complete thematic outfit tailored to classic, idol, or rival aesthetics. For example, original figures yield retro school uniforms and ninja armor, while idol figures provide stylish performance outfits like the Pearlescent set. Scanning every compatible figure guarantees that your wardrobe stays fully stocked for any match style.
